It's That Time Of The Year Again!

I hope that you all enjoyed your week off! I have heard wonderful stories from the students about their Thanksgiving breaks! Now we will begin the busiest and most exciting time of the year. Throughout this time I will keep you informed about what we are doing in our classroom.

Our first big project is a Christmas tree at the Johnson Museum. K&W Plastics has made this opportunity available to us this year. Therefore the theme is recycled materials. I need your help collecting water bottles and newspapers. Art and Character Education will participate in this project.

Speech – Students are working on a current event speech. Oral presentations will begin Friday.

Reading – Students have started a unit study on “The Diary of Anne Frank” that will last two weeks.

Character Education – Students are completing character word collages and they will present them to the class. Character Education students will also be involved in the Christmas tree project.

Art – We have started a project that involves glue, foil, cardboard, and shoe polish. They are looking great already and I am excited to show you our final projects! (pictures will be posted next week)

Please contact me by phone or email if you have any questions or concerns. Have a blessed week!

A Quick Hello from Mrs. Buchanan

Hello Patriots,

My name is Kayla Buchanan and I am a recent graduate of the Baptist College of Florida in Graceville, FL. I will have the pleasure of teaching your child the following subjects: Speech 9, Character Education, Reading 8, Art 7, and Art 9.

I look forward to meeting and getting to know all of you as we continue our educational journey. As a side note, I have your student's grades recorded and I will post them online as soon as GradeQuick allows. Feel free to contact me through this blog or Mrs. Campbell's former email if you have any questions or concerns. Have a blessed Thanksgiving and I will see you on Monday!
